The device has a place for the weapon at the bottom of the cup carrier and holds it in place with "two rare earth magnets" coated in polyurethane.

A drink cup is then placed into the cup holder and can be topped off with an ordinary plastic lid and straw, so that no one knows what is inside.

But the device would threaten the safety of
law-enforcement officers, including those making routine car stops...
