PO TYRON FRANKLIN MEMORIAL FUND
DONATE ONLINE
Morganville, NJ, January 9, 2007: It is with a heavy heart that National Police Defense Foundation Executive Director Joseph Occhipinti announces the formulation of the PO Tyron Franklin Memorial Fund under the purview of the National Police Defense Foundations' Safe Cop Program. This fund, created at the request of the Paterson, NJ Police Benevolent Association is charged with satisfying the future needs of the 16 month old son of Police Officer Tyron Frankin, who was shot and killed while attempting to thwart an armed robbery while off duty and unarmed, in additions to providing material support for his family during this terrible time.
The National Police Defense Foundation is a congressionally approved 501(c)3 organization dedicated to protecting and defending law enforcement. In the past, the NPDF's Safe Cop Reward has directly led to the apprehension of those responsible for the murder of PO Joyce Carnegie of the East Orange Police Department.
“An attack upon a law enforcement officer is an attack upon society as a whole and the National Police Defense Foundation will do what is fitting and proper to aid in the arrest of those responsible for this horrific crime while we support Officer Franklins' family and child in their moment of need” - Executive Director and retired Federal agent Joseph Occhipinti.
